ففي فجر يوم الاثنين 1 صفر 1425هـ الموافق 22 مارس 2004م، ولدى عودته من صلاة الفجر بالمسجد، استهدفت مروحية اسرائيلية بثلاث صواريخ، الشيخ الشهيد أحمد ياسين لينال أمنيته الغالية في الحياة، وهي الشهادة في سبيل الله، بعد سنوات طويلة في الجهاد والنضال والدفاع عن فلسطين والقدس والأقصى الشريف.
وبمناسبة هذه الذكرى ندعو كافة المدونات والمدونين إلى جعل يوم الخميس المقبل 22 مارس 2007 يوما خاص للتدوين عن شيخ الانتفاضة، الشيخ الشهيد الذي أرعب الكيان الصهيوني رغم عجزه وشلله، الشيخ الذي ظل جذوة وقدوة للسائرين على درب المقاومة والجهاد في حياته ومماته.
